It belongs to a class of medications called PD-1 (programmed death-1) inhibitors. Jemperli is given as an intravenous (IV) infusion and is typically used when the cancer has progressed or does not respond to other treatments.

Jemperli (Dostarlimab)is primarily indicated for the treatment of adults with mismatch repair-deficient (dMMR) or microsatellite instability-high (MSI-H) solid tumors, particularly in cases where the disease has progressed and no satisfactory alternative treatment options are available. It is approved for use in certain patients with dMMR recurrent or advanced endometrial cancer that has progressed on or after prior platinum-containing chemotherapy. Jemperli may also be used in other dMMR solid tumors, including colorectal and other cancers, under specific conditions. Its use is guided by biomarker testing to confirm the presence of dMMR or MSI-H status, which helps predict the likelihood of response to the therapy.
